VRTK Announces Endorsement of Oregon’s ‘Fair and Honest Elections’ Amendment

Voters’ Right to Know is proud to announce its endorsement of Oregon’s Fair and Honest Elections Amendment, which will appear on the November 2020 ballot.

The amendment would authorize the Oregon State Legislature to limit campaign contributions, require transparency of the sources of campaign contributions and expenditures, and require that political advertisements identify the entities that paid for them. Full text of the proposed measure can be found here.

“With special interests spending unlimited secret money to keep elections tipped in their favor, Oregon voters have a right to know who’s really behind the campaigns that seek to influence the way they vote,” said Voters’ Right to Know Executive Director Jay Costa. “The Fair and Honest Elections amendment is a common sense measure that will pave the way for the kind of reforms Oregonians deserve so that they be sure their government is working for them, not special interests.”
